Mechanical seals for the paper and cardboard sector

We are manufacturers of mechanical seals that are exclusively designed and customised to exceed expectations and improve efficiency in the paper and cardboard sector.

The paper and cardboard industry moves large quantities of chemicals, which are necessary during the paper manufacturing process: chemicals to which mechanical seals are exposed in the entire manufacturing process. It is therefore highly necessary to not only consider which mechanical seal to choose but also assess the best material and the most appropriate quality in each case.

The paper and cardboard sector is, technically, a very sophisticated sector, in which machinery that meets very demanding requirements has to be used. Paper machines work at high pressures and temperatures.

To manufacture paper, cellulose fibres are mixed with water, thereby giving rise to pasty compounds and products. In this environment, mechanical seals play a vital role.

To ensure the constant lubrication of friction faces, at Lidering we recommend double mechanical seals, such as API Plan 53A with a dual cartridge, plus ancillary elements, such as reservoirs.

Plan API 52

Internal assemblies with metal bellows seals offer a self-cleaning effect (specifically thanks to the geometry of the bellows), thereby preventing blockages and optimising efficiency.

Mechanical seals with high chemical resistance for the paper and cardboard sector

Mechanical seals are constantly exposed to various chemical products, such as agents for whitening fibres, pigments or thickeners. Therefore, mechanical seals for the paper and cardboard industry manufactured at Lidering have a unique combination of resistant materials that both guarantee the necessary chemical tolerance and extend their useful life, thereby contributing to a more profitable and efficient operation.
