At Lidering, as part of the EPI Industries Family of Companies, we advocate for sustainability in the industrial sector. We align ourselves with the Sustainable Development Goals outlined in the United Nations’ Agenda 2030. We have incorporated into our Strategic Plans those SDGs in which we can make an impact. SUSTAINABILITY is a commitment from EVERYONE.
Sustainability
At Lidering, as a member of the EPI Industries Family of Companies, we see sustainability as a fundamental pillar of our company. The planet is a precious asset that we must all care for and protect together.
We have been working for a more sustainable industry for many years. We support the SDGs, approved by the United Nations General Assembly as part of the 2030 Agenda, an action plan for Sustainable Development in the social, environmental and economic spheres. Therefore, at Lidering, we have carried out various initiatives that have allowed us to take many steps towards a more sustainable industry:
- Repair campaigns for mechanical seals: “Don’t throw it away, we will repair it for you”.
- Sustainable offices (led lights, solar panels, etc.)
- Carbon footprint offsetting
- Less plastics, more sustainable

Energy-saving designs: products that do more and use less.
Sustainable designs:
Our engineers are conscious and committed to designing products that are environmentally sustainable. In the case of double mechanical seals, such as the LDC40 or LDC80 models, their sustainable design prevents the release of chemicals into the atmosphere, preventing environmental pollution. On the other hand, our Dry Seals, which replace traditional braided packing systems, also have mechanisms that prevent polluting or potentially hazardous atmospheres. Another example of Lidering’s sustainable products are the LST9 reservoirs, which act as auxiliary elements to provide a barrier fluid through the double mechanical seals.
Hygienic designs:
At Lidering, we are committed to sustainability and hygiene in the design of our products. We strive to create solutions that not only meet the highest technical standards, but also minimise environmental impact and improve safety in use. Our hygienic products are designed to reduce the leakage of harmful substances, ensuring clean and safe operation.
A clear example of our commitment is the LWS31 mechanical seal. This product has been developed with optimised hygienic criteria, ensuring efficient performance while protecting the environment. With the LWS31, you not only get a high-performance product, but also a sustainable option that contributes to the preservation of the planet.
Energy efficiency of our products
At Lidering, we design products that promote energy efficiency and sustainability. A clear example of this is the use of mechanical seals compared to traditional braided packing systems.
Braided packing systems increase energy consumption due to the continuous friction with the shaft, which requires overstressing of the engine. This increased friction results in higher energy consumption and significant cost overruns.
Mechanical seals, on the other hand, eliminate this direct contact and excessive friction, reducing the effort required from the engine and lowering energy consumption. This solution not only saves operating costs, but also contributes to a lower carbon footprint, aligning with our sustainability values.

As part of the EPI Industries Family of Companies, we are committed to using 100% renewable electricity. To this end, not only do we have an energy supplier that guarantees the supply of green and environmentally sustainable energy, but at Lidering we have added solar panels to our production center located in Reus. These have the mission of supplying ourselves with the sun’s own energy, efficiently and aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals set by the UN in Agenda 2030.
In addition, advocating sustainable mobility, we provide our fleet of hybrid vehicles with electric chargers at both our Reus and Cornellà facilities.

As part of our corporate ethics and our link to sustainability, we have made a commitment to reduce our carbon footprint in the industrial sector. To this end, we have carried out a series of actions that are directly linked to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions:
FSC and Paperless
We invest in nature through sustainable practices such as the use of FSC-certified paper and the promotion of a “Paperless” policy. We are paperless, i.e. we avoid the use of paper in all our administrative and commercial actions. We issue our invoices in digital format both nationally and internationally. In addition, we use digital files for the follow-up of our commercial transactions and we have only digital catalogs available on our website. In this way, we reduce printing and minimize our environmental impact.
Hybrid vehicle fleet
In addition to advocating renewable energies, in order to help avoiding the emission of greenhouse gases, we have a complete fleet of hybrid vehicles.
Suppliers
From Lidering we have taken the initiative to change, as far as possible, international purchasing for manufacturing in Reus, our production center. In the case of needing to buy products from outside Europe, it is always managed through shipping groups, in order to reduce the impact of these on the environment.
PACKAGING
Our commitment to sustainability is also reflected in our packaging. We use recyclable cardboard for our packaging and employ biodegradable filler material made from corn. In addition, we use paper tape instead of plastic tape. These practices ensure that our packaging is environmentally friendly and reduces our environmental impact, thus supporting our mission to promote a more sustainable future.

Another of the initiatives we carry out from Lidering is the promotion of the circular economy and, thanks to our production center, the repair service. With this, we recondition mechanical seals to extend their useful life and avoid generating overproduction.
In addition, with the intention of giving a second chance to the waste generated during the production of a seal, we carry out an exhaustive recycling of 100% of the waste material.

We align ourselves with Agenda 2030 and the SDGs to promote a more equitable and sustainable future. We commit to SDGs 3, 4 and 5 by promoting healthy work environments, fostering lifelong learning and gender equality.
In addition, we support SDGs 6, 7, 12 and 13 through the efficient use of water, the promotion of renewable energy, responsible production and consumption, and climate action to reduce our carbon emissions.
This commitment reinforces our mission to contribute to a more sustainable and equitable future for all.
ECOVADIS.
At Lidering, as part of the EPI Industries Family of Companies group, we have been awarded the Silver Medal of the EcoVadis certification, which recognizes our commitment to sustainability.
This certificate is the result of all the actions and efforts that we at Lidering carry out on a daily basis to integrate more sustainable practices in each of the operations we carry out, thus following our corporate purpose; Helping the industry to build a sustainable future.
The EcoVadis medal certifies all the actions that, from Lidering, we carry out to reduce the consumption of natural resources, reduce waste and achieve energy efficiency.
